Flag Day Parade 2019
Ocean Shores, WA

June 8, 2019 ~ Ocean Shores honors Old Glory by holding its annual Flag Day Parade, one of the few parades left in the United States....patriotism still lives here. We have many retirees who are veterans living in Ocean Shores and they, as well as current Military, Police and EMT. Parade watchers line Pt Brown Ave and W. Chance a La Mer Ave to watch the presentation of our Nation's Symbol by marching bands, drill teams, politicians, car clubs, companies, non-profit organizations, and local clubs, citizens, and military personnel. There were 3 junior/senior high bands. The Grand Marshals were 2 Miss Washington's.

There were over 60 entries, including the Hoquiam Logger's Playday float, and BOOM!....the Pirate Ship Black Rose. Playtime Family Fun Center featured one of their bumper cars. What would a classic American parade be without cars?.....from Mini Coopers to the Tesla's....these car owners revved their engines along the streets. There was even a tribute to the late Jeff Daniel, top real estate broker and hobby race car driver, with his race car in the parade.
Towards the end of the parade, local heroes were showcased, ie the Ocean Shores Fire and Police departments. And a great part of any parade is to watch the drill team dance performances and listen to the marching bands. I really liked the bands....it is so classic to hear marching bands.

I accidentally erased pictures off my camera card, so that is why I do not have more pictures. BUT, my video has a ton of the entries..... Click on
