Total Solar Eclipse 2017
Ocean Shores, WA

August 21, 2017 ~ Ocean Shores was evident to a grand sight with the Total Solar Eclipse. The fog lifted in time to view this spectacular site. It was amazing right outside of my office....the temperature dropped to low-mid 50's -- I had to put my sweatshirt back on -- and the skies got darker/grayer. We at the office shared the special glasses to view the eclipse....it was amazing to see God's creation!!!! I took some shots with my camera without looking at the eclipse. The eclipse began before 10am and we watched to about 10:30am.

TAKEN FROM the NASA WEBSITE: On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the Sun. Anyone within the path of totality can see one of nature’s most awe inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse. This path, where the Moon will completely cover the Sun and the Sun's tenuous atmosphere - the corona - can be seen. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon casts a shadow on Earth, fully or partially blocking the Sun’s light in some areas.

The next total solar eclipse visible over the continental United States will be on April 8, 2024.
