June 13, 2026 ~ Ocean Shores honors Old Glory by holding its annual Flag Day Parade during our Nation's 250th Birthday.  This is one of the few parades left in the United States.... patriotism still lives here!  It was a very hot sunny day.

Parade watchers line the Downtown streets of Pt Brown Ave NW and W. Chance a La Mer Ave to watch the presentation of our Nation's Symbol by drill teams, school bands, politicians, companies, non-profit organizations, local clubs, citizens, and military personnel.

The Grand Marshall was Miss Washington.  There were over 60 entries, including our Mayor, our local North Beach High School Band, Miss Grays Harbor and Miss Grays Harbor Teen, some of our local businesses, the Ocean Shores Yacht Club, and BOOM....the Pirate Ship Black Rose.  There were some wonderful Patriotic floats this year... the North Beach Republican Women float with the large 250th Birthday sign and the people dressed up as some of our founders and Lady Liberty, the Grays Harbor Republican float with the huge American flag, and others.  I got to be a part of my church's patriotic float  "IN GOD WE TRUST" (Ocean Shores Baptist Church).  The School Marching Bands were fantastic!!!  What would a classic American parade be without cars?.....from the Mini Coopers ..... to the Jeeps .... to the Corvettes and Classic Cars .... these car owners revved their engines along the streets.  Towards the end of the parade, local heroes were showcased, ie the Ocean Shores Fire and Police departments.  Our local Elks Club hosts this parade every year.

We have many retirees who are veterans living in Ocean Shores, as well as current Military, Police and EMT.   We respect and honor the symbol that unites us and represents our Country and our Freedom!!!  HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY, America!
